As part of our continued development of the United Kingdom Police Service, applications are now open for 10 new Firearms Instructor positions within the UKPS Firearms Division.

As part of our ongoing efforts to increase realism, improve standards and continue developing UKPS, we are introducing a new opportunity within the UKPS Firearms Division.
Firearms Instructors will play an important role in the future development of the division. Instructors will be responsible for supporting the training, assessment and development of UKPS officers while helping ensure firearms deployments continue to meet the standards expected across Five999.
This role is about more than being capable during firearms deployments. We are looking for individuals who can pass their knowledge on to others, provide constructive support and help maintain consistent standards across the division.
The introduction of dedicated Firearms Instructors represents another step in the continued development of UKPS and our commitment to delivering a realistic, structured and engaging policing experience.
Section
Firearms Instructors will help train and develop officers throughout the UKPS Firearms Division. The role will involve supporting firearms training, assessing officer performance and helping personnel develop the knowledge and standards required for specialist armed policing. Instructors will also have an important role in maintaining consistency across the division, identifying areas for development and helping ensure officers understand what is expected of them during firearms deployments. Successful instructors should be approachable and able to support officers at different levels of experience while maintaining the professional standards expected within UKPS.

Instructors should demonstrate maturity, professionalism and the ability to represent UKPS Firearms to a consistently high standard.

Developing officers requires patience and an approachable attitude. Personnel should feel comfortable asking instructors for advice and support.
Leadership
Firearms Instructors should be capable of setting an example for other officers and helping maintain standards throughout the division.
